It will commence at the Social Centre at 1.30pm.
Association president Roland Neururer says it is hoped that conditions will be dry with little wind.
"Our Challenge will be using the nice new hot mix road, and we will cycle from the Social Centre to the end of the smooth road in Avana and back. We will complete that loop 3 and a half times to make up a total of 100K.”
The cyclists will start out as a group with the goal of cycling at an average speed of just over 36km/h.
He said if they manage to continue at this pace for the entire 100K they will beat their previous record time of 2hours 46 minutes.
“To make this achievable the cyclists will all take turns at riding at the front of the bunch which allows the following pack a little time to rest before taking their individual turn leading.
“Having to turn seven times will definitely slow the pace, especially if there is oncoming traffic, so the team are hoping that the new road will allow them to catch up on time lost turning.”
Motorists are kindly asked to be aware of these cyclists on the road on Friday afternoon and to give them plenty of space.
The Association thanks Bank of the South Pacific (BSP) for their sponsorship.
Following the BSP 100K cycle challenge, the adventure season training will start, with a mountain bike session on Saturday afternoon at 2pm from Enua Manea Hall, in preparation for the Uncle Tom's and PTS Adventure Race on August 5.
