Refs for week two football  matches announced

The excitement continues as week two of the Rarotonga football season kicks off today at 4:15pm.

The CIFA Complex Field 1 will be divided into eight separate grounds to accommodate the grassroots matches for the U6, U8, and U10 age groups. Meanwhile, the Takitumu School Field will be used exclusively for the U12 matches.

With a variety of skilled teams ready to showcase their talents on the field, a dedicated team of referees has been appointed to ensure fair play and smooth proceedings for each match.

In the U12 Mix category, Avatiu FC will face Puaikura FC with Kimberly Uini taking charge of the match as the referee. The Matavera FC versus Nikao Sokattak match will have Penina Katuke officiating, while Teupoko Tuariki will referee the Tupapa FC versus Titikaveka FC game.

For the U10 Mix category, George George will oversee Avatiu FC versus Puaikura FC, Matilda Auua takes charge of Matavera FC versus Nikao Sokattak, and Tuakeu Paerau will referee Tupapa FC versus Titikaveka FC clash.

In the U8 Mix category, Teariki Piri will officiate Avatiu FC versus Puaikura FC, Poko Tangata takes charge of Matavera FC versus Nikao Sokattak, and Ua Savage will oversee Tupapa FC versus Titikaveka FC battle.

For the youngest of the lot – the U6 Mix matches – Robert Jr will officiate Tupapa FC versus Puaikura FC, while Jan Taia gets to call the shots during Nikao Sokattak versus Titikaveka FC clash.

The day will culminate with a thrilling U18 men’s match, scheduled for 5pm at the CIFA Complex. Avatiu FC will battle Puaikura FC, under the watchful eyes of referee Rakesh Varman who will be assisted by Kataraina Piri and Teariki Piri.

Week two of the Rarotonga football season promises an abundance of action-packed matches featuring promising young talents. Guided by experienced and committed referees, both players and spectators can anticipate fair competition and memorable games.
