CIFA reveals 2023 season kickoff date

The long-awaited 2023 Rarotonga football season has finally announced its official start date, set for August 9 kick off.

Football enthusiasts across Rarotonga are eagerly anticipating the spirited competition between the six clubs on the island.

The tournament will run until December, with the Cook Islands Football Association (CIFA) coordinating and overseeing the exciting weekly competition.

This year’s participating clubs include powerhouse teams such as Tupapa Maraerenga FC, Avatiu FC, Matavera-Ngatangiia FC, Nikao Sokattak FC, Puaikura FC, and Titikaveka FC.

Each club is gearing up for a competitive season, and fans are already discussing potential outcomes and predicting which team will emerge victorious in each division.

The 2023 Rarotonga Football Season will feature nine thrilling divisions, ensuring that spectators will have no shortage of incredible matches to follow.

The divisions include Under 6 Mix, Under 8 Mix, Under 10 Mix, Under 12 Mix, Under 15 Girls, Under 15 Boys, Under 18 Men, Senior Women, and Premier Men. With such variety in age groups and levels of play, there will be something for everyone to enjoy throughout the season.

In a statement, CIFA said: “As excitement continues to build leading up to August 9, the entire island of Rarotonga prepares for another unforgettable football season.
