At 4pm this afternoon, Matavera will be filling up with supporters from each side awaiting the first youth match for the U15 Boys division followed by the Islander senior women’s clash between the two teams.
Tupapa’s Ladies in Black, who lost their unbeaten run to Puaikura last week, will be looking to remind football fans why they’ve been defending champions in the competition with a win today.
However the Matavera side will be going all out to stage a major upset to improve their placing in the competition.
The two teams will meet in the highly anticipated Tower Insurance premier men’s division tomorrow.
Tupapa’s Men in Black who lead the competition will be aiming to extend their unbeaten streak to four matches tomorrow afternoon.
However the host team will be out to defend their turf and give Tupapa their first loss of the season.
Matavera striker George Ellis, who has proven to be a thorn in the opposition defence earlier this season, will need to bring his A game on Friday, if he wants to get more goals to his name.
However he will face an uphill battle going up against Tupapa’s unbreakable defensive wall.
Tupapa Maraerenga’s youngsters Silas Trego and Marcus Gibbens seem to be on fire especially with their last week’s performance against Puaikura.
This Friday the two will need to bring the same game to help their side beat Matavera.
