Tupapa Panthers went down to Avatiu Nikao Eels in the 15s final last year.
Titikaveka’s Tereapii Tumutoa says they are the likely underdog of the competition.
He said training has been going well as they try their very best to bring their community together through sports.
“We are a team that is most likely the underdog of the competition and in the process of rebuilding our club all we can ask of our players is to give it their all.
Coached by the young Tave Tereapii and an assistant, he said: “We are a family team with a number of SDA (Seventh-day Adventist Church) brothers.
Some players that fans and spectators must watch today are the hard running young forwards Ewen Iro and Bambridge Valoa who will be working the forwards with the oldest player in the team Likena Vaomotu.
Also, speedster son of veteran Ilai Bideni, Apisalome Bideni.
He said they will be looking to team Captain Timothy Tangirere to control the middle with speedster Costas Dai Boe.
The club is looking to one day become great again.
Some of the challenges the club is facing include starting a U16 team together, so a shout out to players living from Vaimaanaga to Matavera and are keen to have a run in the U16 team – head down to the Titikaveka field on Tuesday next week.
The Club is looking for more support from anyone in Titikaveka who is passionate about coaching or sponsoring their young U16 Team. Feel free to give Tumutoa a call on 87267.
