Arorangi Bears who went
down in a closely contested match against Tupapa Panthers last week, will today
face the Bulldogs at Nukupere Park in Ngatangiia.
Bears coach Tavake Karika, lamenting on last
week’s 12-11 loss to the Panther, said it was a close game.
The side is hoping to
get back to winning ways when they take on the Bulldogs at 4.30pm this
afternoon.
However Karika said “we can’t underestimate what
Titikaveka will bring to the field, they have improved on a weekly basis”.
He said for the Bears, they just need to tidy up their ball security around the ruck area and put pressure on the opposition.
“Keep it simple and play basics.”
The Bulldogs have lost
matches already but they are not giving up yet.
Last week, defending champions Avatiu Nikao Eels
thumped the Bulldogs 35-8.
Titikaveka’s Tereapii Tumutoa says their faith,
family and the love for their village is molding the boys together.
“Turnout to training
has been good, every team is struggling as we know it’s only four teams, we are
happy as well that Titikaveka is helping keep this great game alive.
“The main focus for this game is to give it our
best, empty out the tank, play hard and enjoy the game.
“At the end of the day only one team can come
out victorious, and the team that comes out and plays hard will be it. May the
best team win.”
Avatiu Nikao Eels will take on Tupapa Panthers in an exciting clash on Saturday at Nukupure Park.
