Athletics president and manager Simone Fe’ao said that they took the opportunity to extend a heartfelt token of appreciation to their gracious hosts at the Games which culminated with the closing ceremony last night.
Each team member from Athletics Cook Islands contributed to assembling a collection of stationery supplies, which were presented to the Board of Trustees of St Nicholas College.
“The gesture of giving back to our hosts was a heartfelt way for the team to show their gratitude for the warm welcome and accommodating hospitality provided by St Nicholas College,” Fe’ao said.
“We wanted to express our gratitude to St Nicholas College for their wonderful hospitality and for making us feel at home during our time in their care. The gift of stationery is a small token of our appreciation for their kindness and generosity.”
The presentation took place during an informal gathering at the College, where the board members thanked both Team Fiji and Team Cook Islands for staying with them.
Each team’s chef de mission had the opportunity to convey their gratitude and share their experiences during their stay, reflecting on the warmth and generosity of their hosts.
Fe’ao said that as the team bids farewell to the Pacific Games, they carry with them cherished memories and new friendships that will last long beyond the closing ceremony.
