Kia Orana,
A young Fijian man had a bike accident near the end of the airport runway at 3am. It is believed that stray dogs were involved. This is a call out to the Fijian community to rally around him while he's convalescing at home.
Waka comes from a small island that was decimated by Cyclone Winston in 2015. He has only been on Rarotonga for 6 weeks and works in Muri. Ngati Tepuretu family members are assisting with the relocation of Waka closer to his place of work once he's fit to return to work on 10 September.
Reminding all traffic users, especially on motorbikes that fatigue also plays a part in their response.
The dog issue will be addressed with Hon. Minister for Tupapa-Maraerenga, George Maggie and Member of Parliament for Ngatangiia, Mr Tukaka Ama in due course.
First responder St Johns Ambulance, Inano McMurchy would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to Tutu Pirangi of Highland Paradise, Mama Ruta Pirangi and Pastor Ngarima George of Hut 24, Punanga nui market for their kind assistance in Waka's recovery this morning from Rarotonga Hospital.
Kind regards
Inano
