Letter: ‘More talk very little walk’

Dear Editor, The headline in the Cook Islands News, Monday, March 4, reads, Cook Islands grapples with highest childhood obesity rates in the world.

Here we go again. Let’s blame sugar, fast food and yada yada yada then give heaps of money to organisations like TMO, FAO etc etc etc to combat this problem then we all come back here again maybe this time next year and sing the same song again!

Nothing gets done except somebody gets a pocket full of money to do goodness knows what. Do we really got that kind of money to throw around? In the meantime, our little cherubs are getting chubbier.

The CIP government has no clue what to do. In power since 2010, so many NCD strategies over the years and the end result is we have the best fattest kids in the world. Go figure!

Me with a solution? No. I just thought I would join the bandwagon of moaners because that seems to be all we do in this country while our coffers are slowly being depleted on non essentials.
