The funds raised will be used towards Te Arikianga o te Evangelia – Arrival of the Gospel ceremonies for the islands of Atiu (July 19), Mitiaro (July 21) and Mauke (July 23).
King’s Representative Sir Tom Marsters and Lady Tuaine Marsters also popped in to visit the Ambrose with a kind donation while they were visiting Aitutaki for the Vaipae Te Arikianga o te Evangelia Bicentennial event.
Plates of food were sold and spot prizes were offered throughout the day with a live band winding up the night.
The best overall nett prize was won by “Sexcy Peperu Girls BCI Staff Aitutaki” with 16 nett, and the overall best gross prize of 22 went to Koputai Cecil. The best dressed prize was won by the “Blue By You” team.
Since October last year, 16 members of the Tui Mauke o Araura group have been preparing for their trip to the island of Mauke to participate in the Bicentennial ceremony.
Flights, accommodation, meals and uniforms have already been booked and organised.
