Apii Te Uki Ou gala was held on Thursday wrapping up the school’s enterprise curriculum.

The last day of term three wrapped up with games, cupcakes, barbecue and prizes. The theme for the gala was “To Tatou Ipukarea – our paradise”.

President of the school’s board, Tony Fe’ao said the event was well supported by the community.

“It was a great day, there was a lot of support from the community and we are very grateful,” Fe’ao said.

As well as current school families, Fe’ao said the day was supported by former students and families.

“We’re really happy with the turn out, we’re happy with the vibe there. It is part of the school year that we really look forward to.

“The key part is it is all related to the school’s enterprise curriculum.”

Fe’ao said the school’s students were involved in the planning and selling of the products.

He said the money raised will help with the operational expenses of the school adding the gala was also a good community builder.

Fe’ao said the board had a funding committee that spearheaded the gala in conjunction with the principal, Carly Ave and teachers.

Apii Nikao also had its enterprise day on Thursday from 9am until midday.

Nikao Primary principal, Michael Mokai, prior to the event said the day was a culmination of a term’s work focused on enterprise.

The money from the fundraiser will go towards the school’s Parent Teacher Association, Mokai said.
