Police media officer Trevor Pitt confirmed the offender will be prosecuted.
It was part of the weekend reports police had compiled.
Pitt said the offender was caught following a baggage check at Customs. The offender was remanded and later bailed to appear this Thursday.
Pitt said there were two previous cases where such an incident was related to medicinal use and this was handled by Customs, not police.
Meanwhile, in other matters, excessive noise complaints peppered the weekend's incidents, which were relatively minor.
One person had their sound system confiscated by Police on Sunday morning, after an earlier warning was ignored.
On Sunday evening at around 7pm, a motor vehicle crash was reported.
The motorcyclist crashed into a parked truck near TEM's Store. The 20 year old driver left the scene but was tracked down by Police.
Also a break-in was reported at Titikaveka on Saturday and in a separate complaint, police noted that a motorbike was stolen at Kavera, overnight Friday.
