Police conducted crash scene forensics on Saturday morning on the Main Road at Matavera where a fatal road incident had occurred.
The man sustained fatal injuries when he lost control of his motorcycle, after a slight bend, police said in a statement.
Police were called at 6.26am and traffic had to be diverted until investigators had completed their scene analysis.
Police said early indications are that speed was a contributing factor.
The fatality is the third on Rarotonga this year.
Police said they had been involved in a long Friday night shift of incidents prior to the fatal.
A car crash was called in at 4.50am on Saturday on the Main Road between the Business Trade Investment Board and the Bond Store.
A 33-year-old male driver was subsequently breathalysed and arrested for excess alcohol (570 micrograms per litre of breath).
Earlier in the morning, Police forbid one person from driving out of a nightclub car park.
A suspected drunk driver swerving on the road from the airport was reported to Police.
Two arrests were made early on Sunday morning.
A man was remanded for contempt of his court orders while a male motorcyclist was stopped near Raro Fried Chicken in town and arrested for drunk driving.
He was remanded in custody after testing at 1020mcg/l.
