Tupehoro Pokipoki appeared in the Criminal Court at Avarua on Thursday facing eight charges of theft as a servant.
Defence lawyer Mark Short asked that the matter be adjourned until November, and assured the court there would be a guilty plea.
JP Whitta said there had been a lot of delays.
“She wants to enter a guilty plea, it’s adjustment only with the figures.”
Short said the purpose of the adjustment of figures was to get a tally of the total amount, before asked that the matter be adjourned for three weeks, so he could discuss the matter with an accountant.
JP Whitta then read out the figures . . . $3000, $4158, $4280, $2100, $4870, $18720, $6800 and $12812.
“I don’t think we will be going to sentencing very quickly, it will go to a judge.
“In terms of the elements of change, so long as she understands those elements, I don’t see a problem with entering a guilty plea.”
Short acknowledged there had been several delays.
JP Whitta accepted guilty pleas, adjourned the matter for sentencing, and ordered a probation report.
