The Rarotonga Laundromat has self-service token operated washing machines and dryers. At one token per wash/dry and costing $8 per token, it will cost customers $16 per load for a wash and dry. The washing machine/dryer is programmed to 35 minutes each.
For $25, the team at laundromat can deliver the same service – wash, dry and fold, however you will need to book in advance.
Owned by businessman Brett Porter, company representative Sandi Brown said the idea started around September or October last year and thanks to her bosses the business was finally established.
Located at Ingram House in Avarua next to Ride Rarotonga, Brown says the service will greatly assist those who are always at work and have to find time to do their laundry.
“This gives them an opportunity to take advantage of our services and with the hours we will be opening, they can either do their own washing or we can do it for them. They can do it before or after work,” she said.
“People have been waiting for something like this to happen.”
The Rarotonga Laundromat is also looking to provide pick up and drop off services for those who make a booking.
To mark their first week of opening, the laundromat is giving away a wash, dry and fold service to seven people – one for each day.
You can book online for their services at www.rarotongalaundromat.com or call on 74979.
