At The Edgewater Resort and Spa, they had experienced lots of bookings for the Mother’s Day buffet, which according to food and beverage manager Roland Neururer was traditionally one of their big weekends.
“There’s still a few seats available for the lunch buffet, but it’s likely to be booked out by the time Mother’s Day comes around,” Neururer said.
The Edgewater’s buffet will be offering a selection of fresh salads, carvery roasts, hot sides and desserts on Sunday, May 14 for $55 per person.
At the Rarotongan Resort and Lagoonarium, the team was also expecting a busy Mother’s Day, with a host of food available.
The Rarotongan staff told Cook Islands News that bookings had been steady so far, but it was good to host the event without Covid-19 restrictions.
There had been a couple of years where the resort could not host buffet-type events, so staff were hoping to get a good number to Sunday’s event.
“If we could get 100 or so people on the Sunday that would be excellent,” the staffer said.

The Arorangi resort is offering Mother’s Day breakfast buffet from 7.30am to 10am, lunch buffet from 12pm to 2pm featuring live entertainment by Harry & Tina – glass of bubbles for mum upon arrival – and roast buffet from 6pm to 8pm with live entertainment by Talz.
Resort general manager Sierra Glade-Garner said Mother’s Day was one of the busiest days of the year and they were anticipating well over 50 people for their lunch buffet.
“We usually put together something on Mother’s Day depending on what the kitchen comes up with.”
Lunch buffet which is available for $39 adults and $20 for children between 4 and 11 years is their busiest and normally have people who join in the feast after their Sunday church service.
Well-known musicians Harry & Tina, who perform at the Crown Beach Resort & Spa on Thursdays during their island night, will be entertaining the guests during the lunch buffet.
“We wish all mums a happy Mother’s Day,” Glade-Garner said.

There’s a great selection of ladieswear, tropical print pareu and sarongs and cushion covers selling for a great deal of $100 for four.
