Junior paddlers  fundraise for  world event
The Cook Islands Junior Woman’s U19 Elite Cook Islands team - Pourie Kaina, Metua-Ani Raea-Araitia, Emii Akava, Hiti Lenoir, Te-Iri Henderson, Isabella Nicholas, Mila Nicholas, Taira Tangaroa and Aleida Tere in the V1 are raising funds for the IVF World Elite and Club Sprint Championship 2024 in Hilo, Hawai’i. The Cook Islands Under 16 junior oe vaka girls team made history by winning bronze medals at the 2023 IVF World Paddling Distance Championships in Apia, Samoa.

The girls are looking forward to another world event next month – the International Va’a Federation (IVF) World Elite and Club Sprint Championship 2024 in Hilo, Hawai’i.

They are now part of the Cook Islands junior women’s U19 team made up of Pourie Kaina, Metua-Ani Raea-Araitia, Emii Akava, Hiti Lenoir, Te-Iri Henderson, Isabella Nicholas, Mila Nicholas, Taira Tangaroa and Aleida Tere.

To help the girls get to Hilo, a super fun CC Tamure and Cardio Combat fundraising class instructed by Luciana Matenga and Mona Taio will be held tomorrow morning, Saturday, July 20, starting at 6.30am at Te Are Karioi Nui (National Auditorium Domes).

Tickets are $12 and all the CC Tamure tickets purchased will go into a draw for a chance to win a two-hour round island guided jetski tour (valued at $600), stunning black pearl jewellery by Emilene, and beauty treatment vouchers by Purotu Spa.

Delicious breakfast meals and nu will be on sale to enjoy after the workout.

The theme colours are pink and blue so dress up for opportunities to win spot prizes that will be drawn at the event. The paddlers are grateful to their sponsors TVK Water Sports, Pearl Jewellery by Emilene, Purotu Spa and Vodafone Cook Islands.
