Zumba fundraiser

A ‘Zumba with Franky’ fundraiser will be held this evening in aid of the Cook Islands Body Building Federation.

The federation is preparing to send the nation’s body builders to the 2013 South Pacific Body Building Championships in Tonga next monthand the funds raised from the fun Zumba event will help get them there.

Team manager George George will be head to Tonga with fellow manager Tekao Herman and team members Aaron and Oki Enoka, Eddie Brogan, and Dean Teiho for the October 24-25 championships.

George and Herman will be on a judging panel at the championships and Cook Islander and qualified body building judge Joe Daniel is the overall co-ordinating judge for the regional event.

George says they have been doing sausage sizzles at CITC Supermarket on Saturdays and would like to thank CITC for their support.

Zumba instructor Franky Browne is also helping the federation promote physical health and physique in the Cook Islands by joining in the fundraising efforts.

The Zumba fundraiser starts at 5.30pm and runs for an hour at the Tupapa Centre.
