Women’s boxing debut

Wednesday 8: Women’s boxing will make its Cook Islands Games debut night tomorrow.

Twelve female boxers are included in the exciting line-up of 16 bouts which have been organised for the fight night.

The programme includes junior and exhibition matches.

The fight night will be held at the Banana Court with the first bout to start at 7pm.

The main bout of the night will be the last fight against national representatives Eddie Daniel of Takitumu and Marcus Jack of Vaka Te Au O Tonga.

Three female boxers to watch out for on the night will surely be Judy Tuara, Luciana Matenga and Kapo Lani.

The night will also include entertainment by members of the Te Tiare Association.

So be sure to clear your diary for Thursday night and head to the fight night at the Banana Court.

Tickets will be on sale at $5 for adults and $2 for kids under 12. - MW

The boxing match ups are: Owen vs Osolei (men), Charlie Tere/Wyes Obeda vs Andre Iro (junior men), Karero vs Mary Tou (female), Judy Tuara vs Ngaei Kura (female), Thomas Enoka vs James Strickland (junior men), David vs Tereinga Rima (men), Tupou Patia vs Lucy Matenga (female), Anna Teinangaro vs Kapolani Purua (female), Joshua Maui vs Raki Rima (men), Tareu vs Tupou Koroa (male), Vasi Poila vs Tatakura (female), Bernard vs Mathew of Mongoose (male), Jim Putai vs Ronnie (male), Kurere vs Sharon (female exhibition bout), Tutai William vs Junior (male) and Eddie Daniel vs Marcus Jack (male).
