Women’s tri this Saturday

The sixth annual Island Car & Bike Hire Women’s Triathlon is on this Saturday.

With the huge success and laughter displayed at the Corporate Triathlon just three weeks ago, it seems the numbers may grow once again for the Women’s Tri!

This event has grown every year since its inception and so many women on Rarotonga have benefited from getting out there and giving it a go and seeing their fitness levels rise and their lifestyles improve.

Some have even gone on to do the half ironman triathlons.

The distance is twice that of the Corporate Tri - but don’t let that phase you as it’s all about getting out there and completing it preferably with a smile on your face.

The best part of the women’s triathlon is that the men do all the work for this triathlon. There will be kayaks on the water for the 400m swim, marshals at the 16km cycle turn-around and marshals and the centre drink stop for the 4km run, along with cheerleading from our fellow team mates and men!

Afterward there will once again be music and prizes, along with the hash drinks and a $2 sausage sizzle!

So bring along your change and a mat to settle down to finish off the day with some great fun and laughter!

Teams keen to take part in the women’s triathlon are urged to have your entries in by Thursday at latest as it makes it easier for time keepers and set up of entries for Saturday.

If you are unable to get them in before that, please email your name and or team to Len Edwards by Thursday to poly@oyster.net.ck and see you all on Saturday at 3pm.
