Women footballers take it one game at a time

The Cook Islands womens soccer team will be taking it one game at a time and first up they meet Guam.

The team, including players as young as 15 years old, has settled into village life and looking forward to the Pacific Games competition. Theyre pictured here relaxing in the games village before a training session.

The girls are really excited and cant wait to play against Guam, says senior team member Mii Piri.

Everyone is in sync and focused on our first game we will be taking it one game at a time.

The team coached by Jimmy Katoa is currently ranked 7th in the region and keen to improve on that.

The team armed with Cook Islands flags and clear voices showed their support for their mens team who faced Tahiti yesterday afternoon in their second game of the competition after losing 4-0 to New Caledonia on Saturday.
