Plenty of action and smiles were seen at the BCI Stadium yesterday for what was an action-packed Cook Islands News mixed rippa rugby tournament.
Although two teams pulled out of the tournament at the last minute the intensity in which the tournament was played between the four teams created an electric buzz at the stadium.
The best boys and girls rippa rugby players from Avatea, Arorangi, Titikaveka and Avarua Schools were selected to represent their schools which they did in fine form.
In the end Avarua was just too strong for the other three schools and took out the tournament closely followed by Avatea, Arorangi and the tenacious Titikaveka team.
Today the focus turns to the Pacific Computer under 15 college rugby sevens tournament which is set to be another exciting event for both boys and girls teams.
Todays under 15 tournament kicks off at 1pm at the BCI Stadium.
Both the rippa and under 15 rugby sevens tournaments are part of the week of rugby which leads up to the main event the annual Sevens in Heaven tournament starting tomorrow with the parade of teams at 2pm and the first game at 4pm.
Get along to the BCI Stadium today and support the future rugby sevens stars.
