Volleyball one day tournament

Some fantastic cash prizes will be up for grabs at the first social mixed volleyball tournament of the year on Saturday January 22 at the Telecom Sports Arena.

The one-day social volleyball tournament has been organised to kick start the volleyball season and to help volleyball lovers shed some of the Christmas excesses.

The tournament’s major sponsor, Super Brown, have come to the party with some great prizes for teams including $400 for the winner of the tournament and $200 for the runner up team.

All players will go into a lucky dip draw to be in to win a bicycle valued at $490, meal packs, volleyball balls and national volleyball squad t-shirts.

There will also be free novelty games for instant cash prizes – so expect a fun filled day.

And while the tournament is a social event – the awesome prizes are sure to generate some competitive action from teams.

The fee is $25 per player with a maximum of 24 teams of up to 12 players to be accepted into the tournament.

Funds from the one-day tournament will go towards the national volleyball team’s Pacific Games campaign.

Each team must have a minimum of 6 players and no more than 12 and at least 3 women must be on the court during play.
