The 2009 Cook Islands women’s singles lawn bowls champion Kanny Vaile will be taking on the world’s best in Norfolk Islands next week.
As the winner of the 2009 Cook Islands national singles championships – Vaile earned the honour of competing at the World Champion of Champion tournament.
The bowls tournament will run between November 23 and December 3 where Vaile hopes to play her best and returning home with a medal will be a huge bonus.
The 2010 Cook Islands women’s singles champion Irene Tupuna, who was part of the Team Cook Islands lawn bowls team at the Delhi Commonwealth Games in October, will represent the country at the World Champion of Champion tournament in 2011 to be hosted by Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, on the local lawn bowls scene – the final tournament of the 2010 year will be held this Saturday at the Parekura greens in the mixed triples division.
Teams wanting to roll up in this event should register today before games start on Saturday.
After the tournament the bowling green will be closed to allow for grounds maintenance and preparations for the 2011 season.
