The Cook Islands national rugby league team have plenty to think about after their first up loss against USA 32-20 in their opening game of the Rugby League World Cup on Thursday.

The Cooks were tipped to win the match with more interatnional experience than the American Tomahawks however it was the lads from USA that dug deep to win their first ever game at a rugby league world cup.

The local boys had their supporters right behind them when they began the match with yet another blood curdling haka with local home grown talent Adam Tangata from Avatiu pictured here getting right in his opponents face.

The Cooks now prepare to take on Pacific cousins Tonga on November 5 which should prove to be a great match on November 5.
