Turangi falls short

But despite her best efforts and great batting, her Turangi team were unable to chase down Matavera’s score of 139 runs as Turangi were all out for 131.

The Muri women’s team posted 42 runs in their batting innings against Arorangi but that target was quickly chased down by Arorangi who reached 45 runs losing only two wickets.

Meanwhile, in the men’s competition – Tupapa were bowled out by Avatiu-Nikao for 65 runs and in reply Avatiu reached the target for the loss of two wickets.

Turangi battered first against Matavera and scored 218 runs to beat Matavera who were all out for 56.

Takuvaine scored 129 runs and beat Titikaveka who were all out for 75.

Arorangi continued their dominance on the pitch scored 170 runs against Muri before bowling Muri all out for 83 while Davana beat Turamatuitui Tupapa.
