Roland Neururer has dominated the gruelling weekend triathlon, putting in top times in the event’s long distance race.

Neururer came out of the water second behind Kelly Pick, who was leading the pack after the 1000m swim with a time of 16 minutes, 19 seconds. Neururer was close behind with a time of 16:41.

He managed to overtake Pick in the 31km cycle, coming in with a ride time of 50:27 over Pick’s 54:58.

There the two split, with Neururer running 8km in the final leg of the race and Pick electing to run 4km.

Neururer again put in the best time in the run, crossing the line in 34:13 to stop the clock with a total time of 101:21.

Brendon Sutherland was the next to cross the line with a time of 111:15 and Jennie George following behind with a 121:55.

Pick topped the field of four that completed the 1000m swim, 31km ride, 4km run event, clocking in at 92:43 over her nearest competitor Steve Whitta who finished in 103:45.

Thirty people took part in the day in a variety of combinations of swim, cycle, run.

Not all who elected the full distance event finished, with the hot sun and strains of the triathlon forcing some to shorten their events.
