Tonga boxers head team of fifteen

Tonga will be represented at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in four sports by 15 athletes including two bronze medallist boxers, Uaine Fa Junior and Lomalito Moala, who won their medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

The games will be held from July 23 to August 3.

Members of the athletics and the weightlifting team departed Tonga on July 15.

Takitoa Taumoepeau the TASA Secretary-General said that Tonga will complete in boxing, swimming, athletics and weightlifting.

Uaine Fa Jr who will be Tonga’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony leads the boxing team that are based and trained in New Zealand.
