Toa Samoa drub Kukis

The visiting Toa Samoa under 13 team proved too strong for the baby Kukis resident under 13s in their first game. The Samoan Warriors won 42-nil.

Toa Samoa is certainly a well-drilled side with players selected from various clubs in the Auckland competition.

Their knowledge of the game and ball skills are outstanding and something to be admired.

However, not to take it away from our local boys, who only just started playing rugby league, they managed to stay in the game and at times showed some local flare for the local supporters to cheer about.

It was certainly noticeable, the absence of some of their top players who played in the grand final last Saturday, and hopefully their second game this afternoon will be a much more even match.

Today’s game kicks off at 4pm followed by the U16 trial at 5pm at the Ngatangiia field.
