Titikaveka takes on Nikao Sokattak

Today’s main match in the Lotto Men’s soccer competition is between Titikaveka and Nikao Sokattak at the Titikaveka field.

In the last game, the young Titikaveka team proved too strong for the Takuvaine team but some say that was because of the fuel crisis resulting in a number of key players not taking the field.

Whatever the story is Titikaveka premier men’s team does have new young faces coming up the ranks and in their last game at the CIFA grounds they managed to hold off a strong challenge from another young team from Matavera two weeks ago drawing in that match 2-2.

This young team from the countryside is quick and unpredictable and promised so much this season. They have home advantage, and being rumoured to be trained by professional fitness instructors which if correct, they could use this situation to their advantage by applying enough pressure to tire out the Nikao outfit.

On the other hand Nikao was struggling in their last game after their coach unwittingly replaced some of his senior players with the reserves in the second half to give them more game time. If this situation repeats itself again today, who knows the Titikaveka men could turn the table against this team from Nikao.

For soccer fans, including our tourist population out there, this is the game to watch at the Titikaveka field so come and watch the world game at the countryside. In the Senior Women’s match, the consistent Titikaveka women team should do well against Nikao as Nikao is fielding some new faces in their lineup and is struggling to coordinate its ball work as they did last week against Avatiu, going down 2-4.

Unless Nikao keeps focus on its attack and defence Titikaveka is favourite to win this match. In today’s other match Arorangi will host Avatiu at the Raemaru park in Arorangi. Prediction- unless something extra-ordinary happens in this game Arorangi women should draw against an improved Avatiu side and Avatiu Men to topple the Arorangi side. Good luck to all teams.
