Talented Cook Islands athlete Terina Keenan needs your support to make her dreams a reality.

In particular, the New Zealand based rising discus athlete needs your vote to win a scholarship that will her make her dreams of competing at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2016 Olympics a reality.

The 21-year-old from the Titikaveka Keenan family graduated from the University of Hawaii in May after attending the university on an athletics scholarship.

She represented the university earlier this year at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Iowa where she finished ninth in the discus.

In June and July she travelled to Europe as part of the New Zealand athletics development team and her focus now is to throw at the next Commonwealth and Olympic events.

To reach that goal – Keenan needs your vote.

The young woman is one of a number of people who have applied for an AMP Scholarship known as the People’s Choice Scholarship.

Throughout September all People’s Choice Scholarship applicants are judged by their peers and the applicant with the most votes takes home a $10,000 AMP Scholarship.
