Tennis tourney starts

The ANZ Play and Stay Stars competition will be served up today at the tennis centre in Nikao.

The tournament will be played in two divisions starting with the under eight year olds competition at 9.30am followed by the under 12s at 2pm.

This tournament will run for the next five Saturdays and is an opportunity for budding players to get a feel for what’s required in a tennis tournament – from dealing with pressure to the code of conduct on court.

But most importantly, this tournament is for kids to show their improved skills, which they’ve learned through the ANZ tennis programme, to their parents.

Don’t forget your water bottle and a towel.
