Tennis tourney for little stars

Mini tennis stars will converge at the Nikao Tennis Centre courts today for the ANZ stars competitions in the under 7 and under 11 age grade.

Games serve off at 10 o’clock this morning.

Last Saturday the under 8 and under 10 ANZ stars competition drew over 20 future tennis stars to the courts for the competition.

In the semi finals of the super tie breaker mini tennis for the under 8 kids – Isabella Brown defeated Torreto Williams 10-8 while Megan Browne defeated Brooke Kurariki 10-5.

The final between Megan and Isabella was a tough match with Isabella edging out Megan to win by one point 10-9.

Third place went to Brooke Kurariki who defeated Torreto Williams 10-5.

In the under 10 competition – Luke Rous defeated John Jessie 10-8.
