The fishing gods blessed the Avana Fishing Club with plenty of fish for the clubs inaugural fishing competition held on December 7.

The fishing competition, sponsored by Bergman and Sons, attracted 17 boats that headed out in near perfect fishing conditions.

The winner of the heaviest fish of the competition went to angler Nelson Itchener who reeled in a whopping 95kg marlin onboard Rereatai.

The aggregate division for the most fish caught went to Captain Moko (Steven Kamana) who reeled in 2 mahimahi and 3 wahoo.

The Avana Fishing Club would like to thank major sponsor Bergman and Sons for their generosity as well as weigh master Steve Raymond.
