Sweat and pain well worthwhile

X-Treme Fitness is the new buzz around town.

Its a total body workout and tough, but for those looking to raise their fitness to a whole new level - this Fitness Revolution programme is for you.

The programme is based on muscle confusion and consists of a wide variety of high intensity workouts including gym sessions with weights, plyometrics, sprint and interval training, yoga, core strength and stretching.

As if thats not enough, programme participants are also expected to attend normal group fitness classes of Fight Do, Power and soon to be released X-55.

The recent intake of X-Tremers was made up of a mix of people, from athletes preparing for the Pacific Games to ordinary folks searching for something different. With an age range of 16 to 60 plus, from a wide variety of backgrounds and capabilities, one thing united the group - everyone had a strong desire to succeed.

Each person used the programme for different reasons. Some aimed to get stronger and fitter, others to lose weight and some just wanted to be the best they can be.

While there were numerous personal success stories, the standouts from this X-Treme group were Maara Toleafoa and David Bridge, who both missed only 1 session during the 11 week programme. This was quite a feat, given how intense and tough the programme was.

David Bridge says the X-Treme Fitness programme is very challenging and gets results due to personal hard work and the outstanding instruction and guidance from Puai and Tai Wichman who take the classes, assisted by Simona Simona and Aporo Kirikava.

Doing up to 9 classes over a 6 day period for 3 months to continual shock muscle groups requires focus, determination, sweat and pain. Bridge recommends the programme to anyone who wants a high level fitness challenge that is varied and challenging.

Be prepared to set goals and to ache and sweat but at the end, if you make it, its all worth it.

Bridge lost 7 kilos during the programme, but there were others who lost over 20 kilos, while still gaining lean muscle.

The next X-Treme programme kicks off on May 30.
