TAVARUA – Australian surfer Owen Wright notched up perfect scores twice on his way to to winning the 2015 Fiji Pro mens championship.

In a powerful swell at Cloudbreak on Monday, Wright took on two massive barrels in his round-five clash with compatriot Adam Melling for two perfect 10 point rides – he then repeated the feat in the final yesterday against fellow Australian Julian Wilson.

The perfect 20, which has also been achieved by Kelly Slater and Joel Parkinson twice, has only been achieved by six surfers ever.

Of his first perfect heat Wright said: “I never thought 20 points would happen to me in my life.”

He then went on to be the only surfer ever to achieve perfect scores twice in same event and also the first to pull it off in the final of an event.
