The Titikaveka sports family and the wider sporting community this weekend are mourning the loss of one of their star athletes, Danielle Trego, who passed away on Thursday.

The 21-year-old will be laid to rest on Sunday afternoon at her family home in Vaiimaanga where a family service will be held this evening at 7 oclock.

Trego, the granddaughter of John and Jancey Trego and daughter of Bernadette and Tumaiata Tutai Purua, was a standout premier A grade mid court netball player for the Titikaveka Pearls netball team who made her debut in the national netball squad earlier this year at the Pacific Netball Series in Papua New Guinea.

The talented young woman was also a national soccer player who had a bright future ahead of her.

Trego was also a dancer in the Taakoka Dance Troupe for the past six years and was also a dancer in the Te Maeva Nui winning Takitumu dance group.

Friends who would like to contact the family can do so on 21016 or 52241.
