The Cook Islands Sport and National Olympic Committee announced that athletics, boxing and swimming will be the codes contested by the Cooks at the youth games but only four athletes, who are yet to be selected, will be picked to represent the country.

The youth games is for athletes under 18 and will see athletes compete in athletics, badminton, boxing, cycling, gymnastics, rugby sevens and swimming.
