With this year’s sports awards one of the largest in its history, tickets for the event are selling fast.

There were suggestions that there may not be enough tickets for sports codes to be able to take their teams to the awards because of an excess number of VIP guests.

However, Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee sports manager Robert Graham says that there is still a good number of tickets available.

But he is encouraging those wanting to be at the awards night on Tuesday, May 25 to be quick as tickets are selling fast.

Graham also explains that VIP guests not only include dignitaries but those families who have sponsored one or more of the 14 trophies that will be awarded to athletes, sports codes and sports administrators.

So, don’t waste a minute, get down to the CISNOC office in Taputapuatea to pick up your ticket for the annual sports awards. Tickets are $35 each.

The sport awards categories are: Sportsman of the Year, Sportswoman of the Year, Junior Sportsman of the Year, Junior Sportswoman of the Year, Sports Team of the Year, Sports Technical Official of the year, Sports Administrator of the Year, Coach of the year, Fair Play Award, Sports Achievement Award, IOC Sports Personality of the Year Award, Best Administrated Outer Island Sports Association, Outer Island Sports Achievement and the Mamia Tunui Savage memorial trophy for women in sport.
