The Singapore national netball team is set to play against hosts the Cook Islands in a three match test series in November.

The Singapore team, and not Scotland as incorrectly stated in Saturday’s back page story, is coached by former New Zealand Ferns coach Ruth Aitken.

Aitken is a supporter of Cook Islands netball and her touring team will be up against a Cook Islands squad combining fresh talent and experienced netball campaigners.

Mii Maui is charged with preparing the local side with help from assistant coach Margaret Matenga.

The three test series will be played on November 18, 19 and 20 at the Telecom Sports Arena in Nikao.

The series will begin an exciting end of year netball bonanza for local fans which includes the second running of the Netball in Paradise Tournament in early December for junior and open netball grades.

The national netball squad includes – Luciana Matenga (Titikaveka), Ashleigh Iro (Titikaveka), Natalia Short (Titikaveka), Rosa Kauvai (Avatiu), Clarista Andrew (Arorangi), Patricia Te Huna (Titikaveka), Alanna Smith (Titikaveka) Lenae Tiati (Takuvaine), Marjorie Toru (Avatiu), Antonina Browne (Avatiu), June George (Ngatangiia) , Richelle Topui (Titikaveka), Tatiana Hirovanaa (Avatiu), Pamela Bond (Aitutaki) and Noni Watt (Aitutaki).

CI News apologises for confusion caused by the error in Saturday’s story.
