Sharks enter the scene this week

The Aitutaki Sharks premier rugby league team will have their first outing in the 2011 league season this Friday when they travel to Rarotonga to take on the Tupapa Panthers.

Remaining Tupapa Panther grades will rumble with the Titikaveka Bulldogs whose premier grade has the bye this week.

The match-up between the Sharks and Panthers is sure to be a bruising encounter as the Sharks will be out to start their season with a bang.

The Panthers on the other hand will be hurting from last weekend’s opening game 10-17 loss to the Ngatangiia Sea Eagles.

The Eels will host brothers from the Takuvaine Warriors while the Sea Eagles will take on the raging Arorangi Bears.

Friday 11 at Victoria Park Panthers vs Bulldogs – 3pm under 13 grade, Ref-B Bishop, assisted by P Ngaroi and T Tuakana, 4pm under 16 grade, Ref-M Caffery assisted by P Ngaroi and T Tuakana, 5pm premier grade Panthers vs Sharks, Ref-J Whitta assisted by S Willis and T Manea.

Saturday 12 at Avatiu Eels vs Warriors – 12.30pm under 13 grade, Ref-J Murray assisted by club officials, 1.30pm under 16 grade, Ref-P Ngaroi assisted by B Bishop and N Takaiti, 2.30pm under 19 grade, Ref-N Takaiti assisted by B Bishop and A Emile, 3.30pm reserve grade, T Manea assisted by A Emile and N Takaiti, 4.45pm premier grade, Ref-S Teiotu assisted by T Manea and N Takaiti (sub official-A Emile).
