Rugby sides eye bonus points

Securing wins and accumulating bonus points will be the drive of this weekend’s round of the CITC club rugby season.

This is especially important for all teams as the season inches towards grand finals time.

This week the Titikaveka Bulls will host the Ngatangiia Dragons with the two clubs Senior B teams kick starting this week’s proceedings at 4.30pm today.

The remaining games between these two clubs will be played out on Saturday at

Raemaru Park and the Arorangi Cowboys will host the Tupapa Panthers in what should be a bone crunching game as the Panthers lag at the bottom of the table.

The Panthers will need a big win today if they are to get themselves into a top four position.

The match of the week will be between the Takuvaine Reds and the top of the tables Avatiu Eels at the Takuvaine valley.

The Reds surprised when they kept the Cowboys to a 20-all draw last weekend and that will surely boost their confidence heading into tomorrow’s game.

Maintaining their lead and polishing up their game will be the mode of attack for the Eels.
