RRRR clarification

Organisers of the Round Raro Road Race made a couple of errors when compiling the final results of Saturday’s race.

Overall winner Greg Gustafson is actually from the USA, not the Cook Islands as listed. Also Harriet Carr was listed as the second local woman to win, when in fact she is from Wellington, New Zealand,

Therefore Fiona Pekepo is the rightful holder of the second local woman placing.

Organisers said they apologised for the oversight and recognise Pekepo’s second place.

“We appreciate runners put a lot of energy and training into this event, and they all deserve to be placed correctly,” a statement from the organisers said.
