Robbo cops and Casper the ghost at it again

The league masters were back into action again last week as the curtain raiser for the Aitutaki Sharks and Tupapa Panthers in which the Panthers mauled the Sharks 54-14.

The papa masters were again at their best displaying some very good skills and providing an entertaining game of league.

Bulldogs coach Rea was in top form for the Reds making the breaks and putting players in the gaps to score tries while Blues speedster Mac Mokoroa was running rings around the Reds scoring tries to keep the game at par.

The other flying Atiu warrior on the wing for the Blues was a bit like ‘Casper’ the ghost still haunted by the previous week’s incident when he got spooked by a ‘robbo’ cop.

He was shown the goal post for a cooling off period after being considered to have given a slightly vigorous tackle to the ‘robbo’ but was back on the field like a ghost as soon as he got to the goal post.

One other ‘robbo’ was also sent for a cooling off period but was back on the field within a minute only to be sent off the field after what was considered a vigorous tackle on a player by the middleman.

Speaking of the middleman, after being reprimanded for the lack of discipline on players in the last game, he came down hard on the players for any infringement to allow a free flowing game.

The game has certainly picked up in pace but within the rules of the game and the middle man is certainly keeping the game under control. The game today will be hosted by the papa Bulldogs at the Titikaveka field at 5pm.

So a big shout out to all the papa masters and especially the papa Bulldogs to be at the field and ready for the kick off at 5pm.

Central and the Bulldogs are to provide the jerseys otherwise one team will be running on the field without a jersey on.
