With the annual Round Rarotonga Road Race to be held on Saturday September 24 this year, Athletics Cook Islands has begun its road race build-up to the main event.
This week will see the second race in the series and as Thursday is a public holiday, the race will be held on Wednesday evening.
The race will again start at the Cook Islands Motor Centre in Panama at 5.15pm, on newly measured courses.
The distances available this week will 3km, 5km or 8km
The series will then continue each week and build up to the annual half marathon (21km) which will be held this year on Saturday September 3.
Last week the first race in the series saw a good battle between Roland Neururer and Scott Howley at the head of the field and also a good performance from young Jacob Pynenburg.
