Revenge on Avatiu Eels’ minds

The under-16 Arorangi Cowboys will come under their sternest challenge yet for the Powerade Challenge when they tackle the Avatiu Eels for the second time this season.

Playing at the Swamp, the Cowboys will look to their last effort against the Eels, where superior fitness saw them take a tough match 20-6.

The challengers will no doubt be remembering that match as they take to the field with nothing but revenge on their minds.

Braydon Kavana’s vision from fullback will be crucial to ensure the Eels get over the line in this encounter. Expect props Arama Henry and Joe Tetauru to have a big impact up front for the Eels, with Henry in particular going from the aggression of a prop to the style and finesse of a goalkicker.

However, the Cowboys are not the trophy holders by accident, and a big game can be expected from utility and captain, Dennis Rangi, who proved a handful for the under-16 Panthers last week with a hattrick to ensure they continue to hold the coveted prize. The Arorangi Cowboys’ William Boller will also be looking to have a strong game amongst the forwards.

The match kicks off at BCI Stadium at 6.15pm. The respective teams are:
