Dear Mr Tamarii and Ipu Pierre Tutangata

It was with a great sense of loss when the Pacific Islands News Association (PINA) family heard of Tamarii Pierre’s untimely death.
The PINA regional media fraternity shares with Cook Islands TV and your family the untimely loss of a young and vibrant journalist, who we only met very briefly at the Pacific Media Summit in Vanuatu in July last year.
Tamarii was nominated by Cook Islands Television to attend the PINA/ONOC Sports workshop.
He was more than just a wonderful person and everyone who came into contact with Tamarii liked his personality. He was always smiling and connected well with journalists from Vanuatu, Fiji, Solomons, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Tuvalu.
His new found friends namely Satish Narain (Fiji TV), Christopher Chand (Fiji Sun), Pita Ligaiula (PACNEWS), Charles Kadamana (Solomon Star) and Tapinga Lavemaau (Tonga Broadcasting Commission) will surely miss Tamarii.
We know that Tamarii’s passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of all those who know him.
Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with you, especially to his family during this difficult time.
May you rest in peace Tamarii
