PNG after more success at arena

The Papua New Guinea netball side (pictured right) are no strangers to success at the Telecom Sports Arena.

Most of the players in the squad in this week’s Pacific Series played in last year’s Pacific Mini Games netball tournament where they surprised everyone by beating the Cooks and winning the silver medal.

And this time around, the PNG girls are looking strong, fit and very confident. A potent combination heading in to their first game of the tournament against hosts the Cook Islands.

The team were not sharing any secrets yesterday as they went about their training run.

In fact, we nearly didn’t get this photo of the ladies as they were so focused on polishing up their game plan.

However in true Pacific style, the girls gathered for a quick photo.

So all in all – this Papua New Guinea team is not to be discounted from taking out the tournament.
