Knockout Cup grand

final anybody’s guess

The Nikao Sokattak and Tupapa Maraerenga premier men’s soccer teams will go head to head in today’s CIFA Knockout Cup grand finals.

The end result of this match will see either team crowned as Knockout Champions for 2010.

Only the most biased of Nikao and Tupapa fans would predict a winner, leaving most neutrals ‘sitting on the fence’ in terms of forecasting the outcome of this game.

Tupapa can point to the fact that they have already defeated Sokattak once this year, however, the result of that match was only a one goal margin with a score of 2-1.

Sokattak on the other hand with the players they have, have all the ingredients to defeat the Round Cup Champions Tupapa in today’s final match of the season.

Today’s game will be contested at the CIFA complex grounds which will no doubt enhance both teams’ performances.

Player for player the sides are evenly matched with pivotal players operating in essential areas of the field.

Mii Joseph for Tupapa and Steven Willis for Nikao are both assertive and influential defenders.

In the midfield area the contest between Tupapa’s Grover Harmon and Eugene Tatuava will front up to the combination of Steven Cuthers and Dawn Tare from Nikao.

Campbell Best and Paavo Mustonen played an excellent role as strikers for Tupapa throughout the season.

For Nikao, Teariki Mateariki and Tuka Tisam play a similar role and are in fine form.

Both teams are made up of national squad players, who will no doubt display skill and flare in today’s game.

To all football fans, come down and support your team and watch the world game played the Raro way.

Today’s first match will kick off at 12 noon with Avatiu taking on Nikao in the under 14 boys division.

Good Luck to all teams.
