New story books at Blackrock Apii Potiki

Story books, sports gear and toys weighing in at 115kg were donated to tamariki at Blackrock Apii Potiki by visiting Australian paddling crew Rogz for Dogz – which had the kids jumping for joy and singing for their guests.

Kylie Young and the Rogz for Dogz team visited the early childhood education centre in Nikao and were warmly welcomed with beautiful ei, sing songs and morning tea.

The team took much delight in watching the kids’ eyes widen when the boxes of gifts were opened with promises of new stories to hear and toys to play with, including sports balls of all sizes.

This is the third year the team has sponsored the school as part of the Vaka Eiva ‘adopt a school’ programme and the 10 member team is set to continue supporting the team as long as they keep returning to Rarotonga for the annual Vaka Eiva Festival.
